Welcome Back, Vikings!
Congratulations on earning an A+ Rating!
Please read the following concerning cell phones, dress code, and leaving campus by 2:15:
Students may not have their cell phones visible from 6:45 until 1:55; this includes the commons area and the lunch room. They may not check the time, answer or look at a text message even from you without being in violation of this rule that is based on a Florida statute. If a cell phone is taken from a student, a parent or an adult on the student’s contact screen must come to school to get the phone. If you come get the phone during the day, we ask that you not give the phone back to the student until after school is out. If your child needs to call you during the day, he/she can use one of the phones in the office. The same is true if you need to contact your child. We will take the message and get it to him/her. Please do not text or call your child; regardless of who is calling or texting, the rule will be enforced.
Our dress code requires that students wear clothing that does not expose cleavage, the mid-drift, or any article of underwear whether the student is sitting or standing. This is true for both males and females. Shorts should have a minimum inseam measurement of 4 inches.
If your child comes to school in clothing that violates the dress code, he/she will be asked to change clothes, put on a jacket or another article of clothing and as a last resort, we will call you and ask that you bring other clothes or come take your child home. We do not like to have students miss class for any reason, but we have to have students dressed so that other students are not distracted from learning.
School is dismissed at 1:55 and students must leave campus no later than 2:15 unless they are under the direct supervision of a teacher. If a student has an after school activity, they have to leave campus when the activity is over. If you cannot pick your child up when the activity ends, the student will not be able to participate. Students cannot stay on campus without direct, adult supervision because this presents a dangerous situation.
